Kate Roseth
I have been practising yoga for over 20 years and teaching for more than 15. My teaching is informed by over two decades of study and practice in Iyengar Yoga, along with training in The Roll Model Method. The Roll Model Method has been a valuable part of my own journey, helping me recover from injuries, improve mobility, and better understand the relationship between movement, tension, and wellbeing.
I create welcoming, grounded spaces where people can slow down, reconnect, and find opportunities to practise more mindfully.
My teaching is grounded in the understanding that meaningful change happens through consistent practice over time. While yoga can be challenging, the benefits — both on and off the mat — often extend far beyond the effort we put in.
I love retreats for the change of pace they offer — the opportunity to go a little deeper into practice, and the sense of community that naturally develops when people share that experience together.
I love the alchemy of food and nourishment. The growing, harvesting, preparing, cooking, and serving — and all the micro relationships that are part of it — I see as a tapestry of beauty and wonder.
I have a big garden and am a passionate veggie grower and cook. I love thinking about how I am connected to the earth through the food I eat and serve. I try to source as much of my produce locally as possible and cook with what is in season.
At this retreat, I will also be offering an introduction to Nada Yoga, along with a simple Gayatri mantra practice and meditation. Nada Yoga is the yoga of sound — a vibrational voice meditation that forms the foundation for mantra practices such as chanting and kirtan. These practices can be deeply relaxing and offer a pathway to cultivating a relationship with the divine qualities of the human experience.
I have been practising kirtan for over 20 years and, more recently, have been studying Nada Yoga and mantra to deepen my experience. I am looking forward to sharing this beautiful practice at the retreat to complement Kate's Iyengar-based offerings.
