Kate Roseth

Hi, I’m Kate, the founder of Yogabranches and Certified Iyengar Yoga Teacher.

I’m a wife and mother of 2 children. Before making yoga my life, I was in the creative industries working as a film maker, film editor, desktop publisher and then magazine editor.

It was after my second child that I took my yoga practice and study seriously and began teacher training when my son was only 6 months old.

It seems crazy now, but the calling was strong at the time to do something different with my career.

I had been practicing yoga for 20 years (Iyengar for 18 years). I came to Iyengar yoga after an injury which I had surgery for, but it just wan’t healing and I had heard about the therapy aspect of Iyengar yoga so gave it a try and never looked back.

The benefits to my body and mind were profound from the start, so attendance at regular classes was easy…

But starting a home yoga practice took quite a bit more effort to start, create and sustain.

It wasn’t until I decided to start the Teacher Training program that I was able to create a ‘real’ home yoga practice.

I have been teaching Iyengar yoga since 2009. My home practice was so transformative, I was passionate to share that experience with others. I wanted to empower others to create a home practice that was theirs to explore in and learn from.

So Yogabranches was created.

I continue to live in Darwin Australia with my family and now own my own yoga studio AGOY YOGA.
